Bespoke rural retreats
--- Hosted on demand for groups of 4-8 people --- Get a taste of living off the land and learn something new. Take part in our daily routine, feed than animals, harvest your own food and turn it into yummy nutritious meals, learn a new skill or two, have a bunch of laughs and generally have a lot of fun. |
Experience living off the land for a weekend and see what rural life is really like. Eat good food and forget the rest of the world exists while cuddling a bunch of animals and picking your own fresh fruit. It's a holiday away with a difference, you'll relax, wind down and learn something you can do at home - or experience something you have never done before. We will discuss this and tailor to your requirements.
Tour the property and see what a mature, organic food forest can look like and experience the good life. Talk bees and trees and anything else and choose a skill or two to learn.
- Milking the cow and making cheese, specialised butters and yoghurt
- Making gourmet sausages
- Making pasta and pastry
- Making breads, easily and healthy
- Making soap (This is not about buying a melt and pour mix and putting it into fancy moulds - it is about making soap from scratch using milk and tallow from the farm. )
- Vege Gardens - planning, planting and maintaining sustainably and organically.
- Planning and maintaining a diverse home orchard
- Fixing and maintaining small machinery - chainsaws, lawnmowers, weedeaters and small tractors. (sharpening, blade replacing, fuel mixing, spark-plug cleaning...)
- Fencing 101 - fixing and repairing fences - (put in a post, swing a gate, join wires, strain a fence, nail on a batten, replace a rail - learn the basic fencing skills)
- Regenerative pasture management and small-scale silage making
Or a little bit of it all....
It's a fun and down to earth weekend - literally!
Arrive Friday evening after dinner and finish up after lunch on Sunday - time for a hot swim, round of golf or local walk before heading home.
All accommodation and meals included. BYO alcohol.
